In November 2016, the Government asked the Commission to conduct a new study on how technologies can improve infrastructure productivity.

New technologies in areas like digitalisation, the internet of things, big data, and artificial intelligence create new opportunities for improving the way we manage infrastructure.

The Commission explored which emerging technologies have the most potential for improving infrastructure productivity and made recommendations to the Government on what actions it should consider to support deployment.

The final report – Data for the Public Good – was published on 14 December 2017.
