The National Infrastructure Commission is looking for a new Head of Monitoring and Implementation.

The successful candidate will be at the centre of the organisation, responsible for building consensus around the Commission’s work. They will be coordinating the work of the team on implementation and monitoring the Government’s progress in areas where it has committed to take forward recommendations.

The job-holder will be responsible for setting up and managing systems to capture information on implementation from the wider team, ensuring there are agreed metrics in place to monitor progress and reporting back to the Senior Management Team, Chair and Commissioners at regular intervals.

We are looking for excellent inter-personal skills (oral and written) and confidence in dealing with a wide range of people, including senior officials, politicians, academics, civil servants and members of the public.

Responsibilities will include commissioning work, reviewing advice and briefing, clarifying issues with external bodies and requesting additional information as necessary.  The job-holder will also need to exercise judgement and convey complex and sometimes sensitive messages to individuals and groups.
